Description

Nannochloropsis sp. powder is a nutrient-dense, food-grade green powder derived from microalgae belonging to the Nannochloropsis genus, which comprises around six species. With a fine particle size of approximately 2 micrometers, this microalga features a simple ultrastructure and is highly regarded for its rich nutritional composition. It contains no less than 4.5% EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid), over 10% total fatty acids, 35% total proteins, and 17% total sugars, making it an exceptional source of essential nutrients. In addition to polyunsaturated fatty acids, the powder also provides naturally occurring vitamins, amino acids, minerals, and powerful pigments such as astaxanthin, zeaxanthin, and canthaxanthin

This versatile microalgal ingredient is primarily used as an energy-rich feed in aquaculture for fish larvae and rotifers. Its robust nutritional profile also makes it suitable for incorporation into functional foods, dietary supplements, and other health-oriented applications. With growing interest in sustainability, Nannochloropsis is also being explored for use in biofuel production and as a natural additive in cosmetics and personal care formulations.
